The play ends with Odette and Siegfried (the prince) drowning themselves because the spell is permanent after the mis-addressed vow.
But this movie ends very happy and sweet, which I like a lot better. ^-^

Yes, the bad guy dies, too, because their deaths cause him to lose his power over them. Don't ask me how that makes him die, because I don't know. Unfortunately, I don't have a link to the real play. I found all this out on Wikipedia.

this movie is BEAUTIFUL. but i like the barbie version as well. sue me.
i'd like to have a combination of both this one and te barbie one.
this movie is still beautiful. number 3 is pretty good too.
