No it's not Arabic it's Egyptian and always has been but from that it's also a part of middle eastern and some parts of India.
Not America ever time America takes people's culture it turns to hell and... they don't do it right and they think they can tell everybody about an they don't even know.

The point I think is trying to be made is that it's a traditional dance that is a part of the culture and that people should respect that. The are a lot of countries who want people to respect their culture,including dances. So it would help if people learned which countries the dance came from and if they respected the countries.

I think the point they were making referred to the belly dance *costumes* which were at one point influenced by Western cinema (though admitedly that distinction does not come across as clearly in this clip.)
Also, belly dance is a living, changing art. As a performance art (as opposed to private folk dancing around) it has certainly has both influenced and been influenced by Western dance. Ex: Samia Gamal (ballet training); compare modern dancers like Randa & Dina with, say, Naima Akef.

like i said educate yourself and then you would know that tribal dancing is different from tribal fusion dancing. Tribal is a real dance that originated from another form of dance. (but then again so did every type of belly dance)
